Justice and Missions

Trinity Church is extremely active in justice issues and community outreach programs.  There are many opportunities to work with the Justice team to serve the local community and beyond.  Learn more about what Trinity is doing and how you can get involved below.

Click Here to learn more about Justice Talks, a small group that meets periodically to learn and reflect on the diversity of Christ's Creation. We facilitate this through the study of books, documentaries, podcasts, or art on wide-ranging topics like Race, Disability, Sexuality, Gender, Homelessness, and Poverty.
Currently offering a 3 week study on Implicit Bias please register by August 12th. Learn more here.

Community Partnerships

Trinity Church is happy to be an active community partner with several wonderful programs here in Savannah:

  • Loop It Up Savannah, a community art program, led by Molly Leiberman, brings the world of art directly to Savannah's youth and families. Trinity offers our space, resources, and support to Loop It Up for various projects and meetings.

  • Deep Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, was founded in 2008 to address the detrimental effects of poverty on literacy in Savannah, Georgia. We support these efforts through volunteering at events and collecting supplies for the children they serve.

  • Lutheran Refugee Services of Savannah is an organization that offers a variety of services to refugee families upon their placement in America as they seek to help "bring people home." We offer help through monetary donations in the form of special offerings as well as through volunteering for their monthly community dinners.

  • Young Men of Honor is an organization that works to instill values in young men in the Savannah area so that they can make the right choices to become positive role models for all to witness and follow. We collect ties for the young men so that they can dress well for job interviews.

Community Outreach

Through a number of community outreach programs, Trinity connects to our local community through love and service:

  •  Our Backpack Buddies program sends students from Gasden Elementary home with backpacks full of food for the weekend. The program is largely funded and volunteered by church members, and has been a successfully growing and rewarding program in our church for years.
  • Our Christmas Breakfast event provides homeless citizens of Savannah with a delicious, hot meal on Christmas morning. This too has been a consistently successful and growing program at Trinity serving between 200-400 people every year!
  • We have adopted Gadsden Elementary beyond just our Backpack Buddies program, including our members acting as  mentors and providing supplies for classrooms and teachers.
  • Our recovery ministry for the community, Faith Partners. This ministry includes members of Trinity Church and the greater community and its purpose is to raise awareness around issues of addiction and recovery. Nobody should deal with these issues without access to an informed community who cares!
